Suicide Squad: The Joker’s Car – Vaydor Supercar
Suicide Squad aimed to be the film of the summer and with it came an awesome looking car for the Joker to drive. It looks like a brand new unique prestige car in the similar vein to the Bugatti Veyron or Lamborghini Aventador and yet it actually isn’t a new supercar at all.
It is actually an Infiniti G35C which was sold between 2003-2007. Rather surprising that films makers in 2016 would use a car that is over 10 years old for a supervillain’s car for the film, however this car was no normal G35.
The Clown Prince of Crimes car is actually referred to officially as the Vaydor (not the greatest villain in film history). The Vaydor body kit is specifically designed for the Infiniti G35 and no other car, which means the design is unique.
The Vaydor body kit doesn’t actually greatly change the Infiniti G35 at all. 90% of the car stays the same, however it doesn’t replace the entire body of the car with a new one. All of this is hand-layed by professionals from the marine industry.
A roll cage is installed followed by the new doors and body kit being attached. The roofline and the windscreen will also be dramatically different to the stock Infiniti G35 and that means the interior is very different as well.
It makes for a brilliantly cool film car look. It looks like a road dominating supercar and in the film, it sounds like one as well. Also that Joker purple really doesn’t hurt its looks.
The Infiniti G35 when in production was a highly impressive prestige car and the 2007 G35 Sport model proved that. It came with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 306 bhp. From that power, the Infiniti G35 Sport could sprint from 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph limited.
Combine this engine with the Vaydor’s looks and you have a supercar worth its cost. There are a variety of supercars on sale and many of them have appeared in other comic book films like Suicide Squad. These do include supercars like the Lamborghini Murcielago and Aventador and the Audi R8.
