Take A Sneak Peak At The 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom
Rolls Royce has been building the world’s most luxurious saloons for over 90 years. Next year, Rolls Royce will be launching their 8th generation Rolls Royce Phantom. It is the newest form of the car that is unapologetic about it being a symbol of wealth, success, celebrity, and status. It knows what it is and so does its future owners.
Rolls Royce has given their new Phantom a bespoke new architecture, complete redesign with personalised gallery and it will be the most technologically advanced Rolls Royce yet.
The complete redesign has resulted in an imposing, but minimalist form. Whilst no previous model has been subtle, this one that’s to the front redesign truly stands out thanks to a larger grille surrounded perfectly by bulkier bodywork. The car is smoother in looks than previous models, giving it a reductionist profile that makes it look all the more imposing.
The new chassis is 30% stiffer and it adds new comfort to the ride, ensuring the driver and passenger will be relaxed whilst cruising around corners. The inclusion of aluminium into the frame and chassis also reduces the noise the car makes by 10% making it the quietest Phantom ever built.
Under the long Phantom bonnet
The new Rolls Royce Phantom will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine delivering 563 bhp. It is going to weigh close to 2.7 tonnes so the fact it will surge from 0-60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 155 mph and the car comes with a brand new suspension system and four-wheel drive system.
The air suspension system is connected to a forward facing camera. That camera will scan the road ahead for any bumps or holes, making you feel like you are hovering above the road rather than driving on it.
Inside the new Phantom cabin
Rolls Royce is aiming to make your cabins in the Phantom all the more personal. There is a full glass panel that stretches the width of the cabin. Behind that class, you can commission any artist to create a piece to sit behind the glass as a form of interior decoration. It can be anything. A piece of art from your favourite artist or the school work of your child. Whatever you want, Rolls Royce will put it behind the glass.
If you have no idea what you want behind the glass, Rolls Royce do offer standard choices in fine art, but with Rolls hoping to make every Phantom unique, it is best for you to choose your own bespoke piece of art.
We will hear more about the Rolls Royce in the coming months as we approach its launch date. There will be a full detailed review of the car once it has been launched. If you are looking for a Rolls Royce, but not necessarily a Phantom, Hippo Prestige has some in stock.
