The Supercars To Look Forward To In 2017
In the motoring world, some of the most exciting events of the year are supercar releases. There are obvious reasons for this. These cars not only look amazing and perform brilliantly, they are also at the forefront of technology and innovation for features that eventually trickle down to more mainstream models. We have some spine-tinglingly exciting cars coming this year.
Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T
When it comes to grand tourers, Ferrari are masters. They have had some of the greatest GT cars including a V12-powered Daytona. In fact, V12 engines were the signature item in a Ferrari GT car. But there is two other thing Ferrari are. They are experimental and unconventional and that is what they have delivered with the GTC4 Lusso T.
With this model, Ferrari has changed what is under the hood. They have downsized from a V12 to a turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 that produces 603 bhp. This gives the Lusso T the ability to sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It has a 200 mph+ top speed available thanks to the paired combination of the engine and the seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
With its long and wide shape, this car is designed for grand touring. It is a Ferrari so you know it will drive spectacularly. The steering is quick and accurate, so if you are used to driving Ferraris then this one will feel easy. The drive is unbelievably smooth, excellent for when you are driving through the continental countryside or blasting it along a motorway.
It is a practical Ferrari with four seats that are spacious for tall six-foot adults and has space for a few suitcases in the boot. It does have only two doors, so some of you will be clambering in and out of the passenger doors of a Ferrari. However, thanks to the huge wheelbase, this will remain a dignified experience.
Mercedes-AMG GT R
Mercedes-AMG always deliver excellent cars. Their standard Mercedes-AMG GT is one of the best high-performance cars on the market. So with the new Mercedes-AMG GT R model, you know they are getting even more serious. This is a race version and that means madness.
This model is lower and wider with a more aggressive snarl than the standard model. It comes with the four-wheel drive system, a lighter body (thanks to the carbon fibre body panels) and Mercedes have got an additional 74 bhp from its Twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This gives it the opportunity to dash from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and hits a top speed of 198 mph.
The entire point of this car is to offer you an improved AMG GT and it does that. You can check out the Mercedes AMG GT S model we have in stock right now. But at some point this year, this car will be launched and it is well worth considering.
McLaren will be launching another of their Super Series this year! The McLaren 720S is their newest model and it comes with a new look. This car is designed to succeed its predecessors like the 650S and the 12C. McLaren hopes it’ll be a new everyday supercar. The car for all scenarios.
The engine under the bonnet is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. It develops a monstrous 710 bhp, giving this car a top speed of 212 mph and it sprints from 0-60 mph in a blistering 2.8 seconds. As with all McLaren models, this engine delivers brilliantly.
Everything about this car feels balanced. This is down to the Proactive Chassis Control system that has been revised for the 720S’s suspension. It comes with even more sensors that manage the roll and pitch effectively so that you always feel in total control. This car is faster, more controlled and more capable than any McLaren model that have come before it.
Ferrari 812 Superfast
Yes, that is correct, another Ferrari. They are delivering well this year. They are replacing their flagship f12 Berlinetta with an 812 Superfast. Unlike the previous Ferrari, the 812 Superfast sticks to the famous Ferrari formula with a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine. That means no turbochargers. This is all natural and it is what Ferrari do best.
With that V12 engine, the 812 Superfast earns its name by developing 789 bhp, a top speed of 211 mph plus and it dashes from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds. The F12 Berlinetta was an amazing drive. This 812 Superfast is an evolution of that with perfect steering, incredibly smooth ride and just that power under the bonnet in front of you should excite your entire body.
We are really excited about all of these cars coming out this year, but we have to remember some of the awesome prestige cars we already have in stock. We have a McLaren 570S, a Mercedes AMG GT S, a Jaguar F-Type, a Porsche Cayman GTS and so much more. If you see one that you are interested in, get in touch and out staff can help you get that perfect car.
